Quoting questions (91) Through (100) Of The " 100 Tough Questions about God And The Bible " As Raised By Stephen M. Miller.

By Sodium

The last ten questions, as raised by Stephen M. Miller in his book entitled " 100 Tough Questions about God And The Bible " are being quoted below, for the benefit of those readers who have no access to Miller's book, at all, but have profound urge to know and learn, like me, from Miller's critical thoughts:

" 91.  The Bible says there's just one God. But Jesus said he's God's divine son and there is a divine Holy Spirit too. How could there be just one God, yet three. "

" 92.  Paul and other Christians in the early church spoke in " heavenly languages. " Why do most churches not allow it in their worship services, when it is clearly taught in the Bible? "

" 93.  Paul said, " Women will be saved through childbearing. " Not saved by Jesus ? What about women who can't have children ? Or who took Paul's advice not to get married ? "

" 94.  Who should we believe ? God, who said in the Old Testament, " an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth," or Jesus, who said in the New, (Testament )  " turn the other cheek ? "

" 95.  God ordered murderers executed. So when Cain killed Abel, and when David had Bathsheba's husband killed, why did God let them go ? "

" 96.  Why do so many Christians try to impose their beliefs about abortion on those who do not agree with them ? The Bible says absolutely nothing about abortion. "

" 97.  Why Christians think Jesus is unique when ancient religions are full of stories about supposed gods or leaders being born of a virgin or under a special star, performing miracles, and even rising from the dead ? "

" 98.  Why do Christians insist that Jesus is predicted in the Jewish Bible, when Jews don't  seem to see him there ? "

" 99.  Even if there is a heaven and hell, why do Christians obsess over it ? Hasn't God already decided who goes there ? "

" 100. Why do Christians work so hard trying to figure out all those visions in revelation when someone as smart as Daniel could not even understand his own end-time visions ? "

Final Words:
===============
In the next two weeks I have to decide on the course of action to follow that may help the dedicated readers the most from Stephen Miller's book, " 100 Tough Questions about God And The Bible." My intent in doing so is to provide the readers with the rationale Miller has used effectively in the answers he provided to each question of the 100 questions he has raised. Reviewing or quoting all the 100 answers Miller has rationally provided, may take me more than two years to complete, based on the assumption that I can review only one answer for one question per week. Whether to go all the way in reviewing and outlining every answer of the 100 answers provided by Miler or just review and quote some of the answers is a tough decision to make.. I must be honest and say that I am not certain which course of action to follow at this point in time. That's why I feel that I must be well aware of all the difficulties I may encounter in the process of reviewing and quoting Miller's answers to his 100 tough questions. The difficulties must be assessed before I can even dare to start reviewing the 100 answers.

Quoting Questions (81) Through (90) 0f The " 100 Tough Questions about God And The Bible " As Raised by Stephen M. Miller.

By Sodium

Questions (81) through (90) are being quoted below, precisely as they have been published in the book titled " 100 Tough Questions about God And The Bible " by Stephen M. Miller:

" 81.  Where did religious people get the idea they would live forever ? The bible says, " The dead cannot sing praises to the Lord, for they have gone into the silence of the grave. "

"82.  Inconsistency alert: Jews sang a song blessing anyone who would smash their enemies baby against the rocks. How does that track with Jesus' " love your enemy " ? "

" 83.  Where do Christians get the idea that an evil antichrist is coming to tule the world "When the Bible writer mentions an antichrist, he's talking about the people in his own day who do not buy into the Jesus story. "

" 84.  Paul agreed with a poet who said, " The people of Crete are all liars, cruel animal and lazy gluttons. "  That probably didn't endear him to the people of  Crete, Right ? "

" 85.  Jesus said that everyone who follows him must hate their family. Why would anyone follow him ? "

" 86.  How could Daniel have possibly survived the night in a lion's den and three of his boddies survive getting tossed into a furnace ? "

"87.  Doesn't it seem a bit out of character for a holy Godto tell a prophet to marry a hooker ? "

" 88.  Do not use God's name in vain--it is one of God's Ten Commandments. Isn't that a bit vain--as though it's ore important than helping the poor, which did't make the cut ? "

" 89.  Inconsistency alert: Jesus said we should ask God not to lead us into temptation, But the Bible also says, " Do not say, God is tempting me. " What is right ? "

" 90.  Why do so many Christians get upset about drinking alcoholic beverages when the first reported miracle of Jesus was to turn enough water  into wine to get over 1,000 people too drunk to drive a donkey cart ? "

Quoting Questions (71) Through (80) Of The " 100 Tough Questions about God And The Bible " authored by Stephen M. Miller.

By Sodium

Questions (71) through (80) are being quoted below, exactly as appeared in the book titled, " 100 Tough Questions about God And The Bible " by Stephen M. Miller:

" 71.  The Bible says if parents don't beat their children, they do not love them: " Those who spare the rod of discipline hate their children. "  Really ? "

" 72.  Why do Christians say the prophet Isaiah predicted the virgin birth of Jesus 700 years ahead of time ?  Bible experts say that Isaiah was talking about a child born during his own time--and that " virgin " is a translation mistake. "

" 73.  Jacob had an all--night wrestling match with an angel ?   That's got to be a metaphor, right ? "

" 74.  If God's so compassionate and wise, why did he condone slavery ? "

" 75.  Why should we believe about grounds for divorce ?  Moses, Jesus, or Paul ? They each gave different advice. "

" 76.  The Old Testament penalty for raping a virgin: the rapist had to marry his victim. How is that not twisted ? "

" 77.  Why did Ezra order Jewish men who married non--Jews to divorce their wives and send them and their kids away ?  Not kind. "

" 78.  Jesus said, " If your eye--even your good eye--causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. "  Wouldn't that leave just about everyone with a couple of extraholes in their head ? "

" 79.  Jesus said, " Be perfect as your father in heaven is perfect " ( Mathew 5:48 ). Isn't that just a little  too much to expect from anything short of a celestial being ? "

" 80.  King David wrote, " I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread."  Was that a wishful thinking, a promise from God, or a clue that David needed to get out of the palace a little more often ? "
